
Baldetti Winery: Marketing Intern

As a Marketing and Sustainability Intern through the University of Oregon at Baldetti Winery, I spent six weeks abroad learning about Sustainable Management, Wine Marketing, and Italian Culture. I collaborated with a team to create a marketing plan for the growth of one of the most well-known wineries in Tuscany.
This summer, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Siena, Italy, where I focused on wine marketing and sustainable business while interning with Baldetti Winery, a third-generation, family-owned winery in the Cortona region. While taking courses in wine marketing, sustainability, and cultural communication, which helped me understand the wine industry, the importance of sustainability in Italian production, and how to effectively engage within the local culture, the most impactful part of my experience was working directly with the Baldetti team. Throughout the internship, I collaborated with a group to develop a comprehensive marketing and wine tourism strategy, culminating in a final pitchbook presentation that focused on increasing brand visibility, strengthening sustainability messaging, and targeting key audiences such as Gen Z travelers and eco-conscious consumers. Our work included conducting a full market and competitor analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and creating strategic recommendations such as hosting distributor events, enhancing digital storytelling, and implementing a sustainability coordinator role to better track and communicate environmental impact. We also emphasized the importance of authentic storytelling, family heritage, and experiential marketing to build stronger connections with customers. Over the course of six weeks, I gained hands-on experience in international business strategy, marketing analysis, and sustainability practices, while developing a deep appreciation for Italian culture and the wine industry, an experience that was both professionally and personally transformative.









This pitchbook is a comprehensive, in-depth analysis developed for Baldetti Winery, outlining strategic recommendations to support the brand’s growth within the European wine market. It includes components such as a SWOT analysis, customer segmentation, competitive and market research, business model canvases, and detailed strategic proposals. Key recommendations focus on expanding distributor relationships, increasing Gen Z engagement, and strengthening the winery’s sustainability positioning through measurable initiatives and storytelling. This version was created exclusively for the Baldetti team to provide thoughtful, data-driven insights and actionable recommendations tailored to their brand.




This presentation is a condensed version of our full pitchbook for Baldetti Winery, highlighting key strategies around distributor expansion, Gen Z engagement, and sustainability. It was presented to our class, several winery owners, and the Baldetti team to clearly communicate our most impactful ideas.
